A lovely example from Cara China UK, a company which began producing these lovely brooches in 1945. They were hand made and hand painted. The company was started by William, Millicent, and Hilda Bridgwood. Other British factories also produced the china brooches including large enterprises like Aynsley and Coalport. Because of their fragility often chipping occurs over the years. This one however is in very good condition with just a small amount of wear at the edge of one of the leaves. Nothing that detracts at all. Measurement across is 4cms. There is a gold plate backing with relevant signature and a firm roll over safety clasp. Gift boxed by Vintageonline.
